Solid play in Columbus

The Lady Jackets finished 2-2 in the USA/ASA Berth Tournament@South Commons Softball Complex.

They opened up the tournament with a 9-6 victory. Olivia started things off with a double play on the mound and had solid defense behind her. Chloe’ protected the plate on key plays and also contributed with a 2 run HR. Key hits from Aleeya (dbl), Jania (bunt single), Myia and Sydney with RBI’s and good base running from Anyla, helped hold off the Mustangs.

It was definitely like night & day vs the Fire. Poor defense & MIA bats led to a 1-5 loss and ending up in the losers bracket.

The Lady Jackets were battling back from the losers bracket and beat the Firecrackers 9-7 to met up with GA Elite for their 4th game of the day. The Lady Jackets were down 2-3 when the game was called due to lightning. The game resumed the next morning and the LJ’s came out ready to play and went up 4-3. Keys hits from GA Elite and missed opportunities ended the comeback and the LJ’s lost 5-7 after a hard fought game.
